We all want our children to grow up healthy but often wonder exactly how to implement healthy habits for our children.
First, we need to understand that being healthy encompasses the body, mind and the spirit. When we nourish each of these areas, we create a complete and healthy person.
Jerry Gore, M.D. has put together a program that can be customized for each unique, individual child, to enable parents to raise a healthy child and thereby avoid many illnesses such as ADD, allergies, asthma, ear and respiratory, eczema, obesity, heart disease, diabetes, teen, and emotional issues.

Biography and Introduction
Jerry Gore M.D.
Dr. Gore is as graduate of Northwestern University’s Institute of Psychiatry Dr. Gore is currently the Director of the Center for Holistic Medicine in Riverwoods-Deerfield, where he has practiced Holistic General Medicine and Psychiatry. For 25 years, he has practiced the integration of physical, energetic, mental and spiritual therapeutics-all in the same treatment program for a given individual or wellness package as applied to a person’s health or a corporate need.
Your health program may involve what best fits your needs such as:
1) Nutrition and Supplementation; There are many situations which may improve with natural foods or supplements such as vitamins or amino acids. We are currently using urine tests to guide us in choosing such therapies and are having good results with the treatment of anxiety, depression, and fatigue. We also use standard blood work to make sure we are not overlooking a thyroid problem, anemia, or Vitamin D deficiency etc.
2) Energy Medicine: such as homeopathy and flower essences. We also have seasoned acupuncturists on site (see articles for an explanation of these therapies)
3) Stress Reduction Techniques: there are many types of awareness exercises for relaxing the body and calming and focusing the mind, including breathing and meditation techniques.
4) Counseling and Psychotherapy: Dr Gore draws from his training and experience with analytic and gestalt therapies as well as being influenced through the eastern Yogic, and Hebraic traditions in order to help individuals or couples improve theirhealth, happiness, and sense of well being.
5) Spirituality: There are practical ways of connecting to the higher part of oneself, such as being able to tap into your intuition and inner guidance, or feeling fulfilled in your daily activitiesandrealizing your unique purpose in life. We may use the modalities of therapy, contemplation, and meditation to bring this about.

Types of Massage & Bodywork
Deep Tissue Massage
This type of massage focuses on the deeper tissues of the body to relax, lengthen and release longstanding holding patterns. Moderate to deep pressure techniques are utilized including trigger point therapy to address specific health concerns. This type of massage is highly beneficial in reducing pain, releasing trigger points and muscular restrictions, improving posture and ease of movement, as well as relieving stress.

Shiatsu
A Japanese form of bodywork, Shiatsu utilizes hand pressure through palming and thumbing techniques, as well as passive stretching along energetic pathways called meridians. It promotes self-healing and the flow of Chi (energy) by stimulating the Yin and Yang meridians and traditional acupuncture points that are linked to vital organs in the body. Shiatsu is excellent for pain relief and a strengthening of the body’s resistance to disease and disorder. Most Shiatsu sessions take place on the floor with the client fully clothed. A futon cushion and pillows are used for comfort. Note: It is important to wear loose, comfortable clothing in order to allow ease of movement during stretching.

Prenatal Massage
This form of massage eases the expectant mother of anxiety and stress during a time of transition. Side-lying techniques with pillow props are utilized to allow for ease and comfort during the session time. Special techniques are used for all three trimesters to ensure the well-being of both mother and baby. The goal of prenatal massage is to provide relaxation, lessen physical and mental stress and help relieve the mother of the physical discomfort commonly associated with pregnancy. Note: It is recommended to delay receiving massage in any trimester if you are experiencing pregnancy related nausea, as it may exacerbate your symptoms.

Appointment Policies/What to Expect
It is important to arrive 15 minutes early for your first session. You will be asked to fill out a brief intake form to provide your massage therapist with pertinent information regarding your health history. For all subsequent sessions, please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for a complete session. Prior to the start of every session, your therapist will take time to listen to your needs, and the specific outcomes you hope to achieve.
After a history is taken, your therapist will specifically design a session based on your signs and symptoms by incorporating a mix of bodywork techniques to help you reach your goals.
Aging Gracefully
When we think of aging, it’s typically with a sense of doubt, fear and uncertainty. We’re programmed to read and listen to almost anything that promotes “anti-aging”. But is this really what we want? We want to mature in a healthy, beautiful way. We want to feel good, look good and embrace our maturity with grace and wisdom.
Jerry Gore, M.D. has put together a program specially designed for seniors. Our program enables you to take control of your body, mind and spirit and nourish them with techniques to allow you to continue through life’s natural process with grace and confidence .
